Extraordinary Marriage God’s Way

When we look at marriage from God’s perspective, we will see and clearly understand that a marriage relationship between husband and wife is more than an ordinary relationship. As couples, when we said yes to God by agreeing to be in this special covenant relationship, we signed up for a life-long journey of becoming one.

What is so Amazing About Marriage

The fact that God Himself entrust husbands and wives to operate and coexist in a union He created and ordained. This extraordinary relationship we call marriage is intended to be carried out as a life-long commitment by the ones who said “I Do”.  Extraordinary marriages God’s way just doesn’t happen over- night but is an on-going process. From the beginning of time, God already knew who we will be joined to as husband and wife in order to live out our marital purpose for which we were called. Scripture states, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24, NIV).

The First Step in Working Towards an Extraordinary Marriage

From that very moment when we committed ourselves in a covenant union with God and our spouse, we begin our transition from an ordinary marriage to an extraordinary marriage. In order for ordinary marriages to become extraordinary, husband and wife must follow God’s blueprint and allow His way and process to be the ultimate guide for honoring Him. The first step in working towards an Extraordinary Marriage…God’s Way is being in a consistent relationship with Him to begin to understand His character and His purpose for instituting and ordaining marriage.

Trials in Marriage Will Make You Stronger

Extraordinary couples nurture their relationship by understanding and operating within their roles and responsibilities as husband and wife. As we all know, marriage itself is a tall task that can be easily derailed by miscommunication or even a couple’s inability to agree to disagree among a few of many hurdles a couple face day in and day out. Although there are many factors in working towards an extraordinary marriage relationship. Scripture reminds us to “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9, NIV). In other words, to experience the blessings that extraordinary marriages can bring, couples must understand that trials in relationship is an opportunity to allow God to illuminate Himself in the midst of the disagreement to bring about resolution that will honor and glorify Him.

Couples, Commit to the Covenant

You as couples committed yourselves to the covenant of God and your spouse in marriage, God already prepared you with everything you need to move from the state of an ordinary marriage to a life-style of being an extraordinary couple in an extraordinary marriage His way. Don’t give up on God; trust Him and His process!
